Round two of chemo has been a bit rough.  Today is day six of eight.  There is light at the end of the tunnel!!  Lexe had several nights of very high fevers.  During one tough night Lexe's fever spiked up to 106 degrees.  She had an episode of the rigors, extreme shaking and shivering, that needed to be controlled with Demerol.  The nursing staff at Primary Children's is outstanding and they have worked very hard to keep Lexe's fevers and nausea under control.  Eating is difficult right now.  Lexe has developed mouth and throat sores that make swallowing very painful.  She is currently using a morphine pump to manage  the pain.  In typical Lexe fashion, she needs to be forced to use the pump.  Getting an honest pain indication from Lexe is usually a negotiation.  Lexe is one tough cookie!!!

Thank you to all of our support team who have provided our family with meals, rides, gifts, gardening and the list goes on.  Most of all thank you to those who have provided a shoulder to lean on during crummy days.

  4. HI, I just finished AML treatment last October. Hang in there, I had fevers 3 out of my 4 rounds, it sucks but things get better. The one thing I learned is tell the Docs every little pain you have because you never know what it could mean. I was stubborn at first but got over it real quick, as something I thought was nothing could really have been a big deal! Stay positive!

  5. Lexe, you don't know us (Brown Family - Annie plays for Gabe's 98's), but we want to tell you we Love and support you and your family. We had Doctor Wright and Lemmons while our 9 year old went through undifferentiated leukemia at Primary CH 3 years ago. We had an umbilical stem cell transplant.

I coach with Rocco and our little U10 team wore Lexe's patches and our girls dedicated the Season to her. Just wanted to tell you we are praying and thinking about you and your family. You are doing an amazing job! Keep up the great work and keep fighting! Sean & Christy Brown

  6. Hey Lexe! Impact United B12 Premier team went to Boulder for a tournament last weekend and dedicated the event to you. We made it to the final, and lost by one PK in a shoot out. However, your little buddy Collin (my son), who wears your number proudly, scored a goal on your behalf. It was his first tournament on a Premier team -- he even yelled out "This one's for you Lexe!"
We are all rooting for you and hope you are feeling better soon.
