On April 20, our daughter, sister, teammate and friend was diagnosed with Leukemia (AML). This cancer is placing her in the hospital for 6 months while she has chemotherapy. Right now her goal is to be able to walk at her senior graduation on June 6. She is determined to beat this cancer with her family, friends and soccer team by her side. We hope this blog will be able to keep our friends and family updated and involved in her journey to 'Kick Leukemia!'

Well Lexe had her first round of chemotherapy yesterday, and continued to have it today. She is doing super good, and was actually able to go outside today!!!! All of Alta and Indian Hills students wore orange today to support Lexe! It was super cool to see how many people are there to support us, even though they may not even know us. We love our friends and family and are so grateful for your thoughts, prayers and fast on Lexe's behalf!

Hi Lexe. I'm a new member of your dad's team at work. He was telling me all about you as my 12 year old son plays comp soccer for Impact. I want you to know that even though we haven't met yet, I am so proud to hear of your courage and strength. You will be such an inspiration for many kids to follow in your shoes (or cleats!) We are all praying for your full recovery. Trust that God will help you and your family through all of this; you will come out shining!!
